On a shopping trip to my local Target I was on the hunt for a dupe for the Kiehl's Panthenol Moisturizing Face Cream ($26, 4.0 fl. oz. jar). As I was browsing, I noticed the Expert Sensitive Restoring Night Treatment face cream ($6.99, 1.69 fl. oz. jar). Luckily, Target has testers for their Boots's brand because most of the time Target never has any testers for other brands, such as Neutrogena or Simple. Unlike the major department stores like Nordstroms and Sephora, which gladly makes samples for their customers or has readily available testers to try instantaneously. Personally, I find it more enticing to invest extra cash and time to travel to the mall for all my cosmetics because I would rather try the product before purchasing instead of blindly making a purchase solely relied on the product's description on the box. Regardless, on with the review.....
Boots cream:
1. Medium consistency
2. Mild fragrance (mineral scent)
3. Moisture lasted 3 hours before reapplication
4. Readily accessible at the nearest Target
5. Left the skin feeling moist, but not oily
6. Needed to use more amounts to moisturize the entire face area
Kiehl's cream:
1. Thick paste like consistency
2. Mild fragrance (mineral scent)
3. Long lasting moisture (12-14 hours)
4. Sold at Nordstroms or through Kiehl's
5. Heavy moisturizer left the skin feeling oily
6. Used about a dime's size to moisturize the entire face
All in all, the Boots cream does work similiarly to the Kiehl's cream and is more economically friendly. Some individuals might prefer the Boots brand more because of the value for their money, but might have to go frequently to their nearest Target because the jars do not come in larger value sizes unlike the Kiehl's cream.
