Woke up in the morning and ate Ube bread (delicious) and put on my new Burberry green polo. I felt all preepy today hee hee... Then I get an unexpected phone call from one my good friends from UC Riverside, she was inviting me to chill with her and her other friend. The initial plan was to head to her parent's home, then go out for sushi, drive to South Coast and then end the day with getting a full body massage for an hour for only $20 (plus tip). The plan was going well, when the original place we were going to eat at was closed, so we drove to the other place in Irvine to get some yummy California rolls. Then we were on our way to the third stop, South Coast Plaza, where I ended up going to H and M for the very first time and spontaneously purchased a nice warm black coat and a hot red purse, just in time for back to school in a week. I even talked my good friend into buying the same coat and another pea coat. I love shopping with my girlfriends and getting pampered. Finally we end up in Westminster and walked into some Chinese massage parlor. I felt nervous cause it was my very first time walking into an office for massage therapy session. Basically once we were let into the back room it was so Zen like, just because the walls were covered with bamboo tree wallpaper and the blinds were dark brown wood and it was cool, and nice classical music was being played in the background. The ambiance was so relaxing and inviting. We were then instructed to sit on the large sofas and place our feet into a bamboo basin, which was filled with steaming hot green tea. It was very soothing cause we spent a good couple of hours walking around the mall. Then the middle aged Chinese guy worked on me, first dug into those knots in my shoulders and back, then focused on the lower back, moved to the shoulders, arms, did some pressure points to release some tension, worked on the hands, moved down to the legs and then worked on the scalp, ears, neck, and face. Lastly, he worked on the shins, and ended the session with a deep foot massage and a hot towel. I was a happy woman at the end of the hour and all I wanted was to fall asleep and just enjoy the tension free body. I think I'm hooked to massages now, need to work and do this spoiling thing once a month, should be great for my health and future.
